8/26/2006 - Dwelling & Trash

07:45 dispatched for trash in the 100 blk. Newcomer Rd. Units arrived to find a single railroad tie on fire. All units cleared in a short time.

21:51 Truck 75 was dispatched with the rest of the 74 assignment for a dwelling at 35 W. Hummelstown St. Truck was recalled enroute.

8/25/2006 - Building & Traffic Control

07:52 The building assignment was dispatched for 320 Eby Chickies Rd. The business had a small fire in one of their machines. Employees extinguished the fire before fire department arrival. All units were cleared at 08:03.

23:09 Traffic 75 was dispatched to assist station 719.

8/24/2006 - Vehicle Accident Assist 719

05:40 Engine 75-2 was dispatched to assist 719 with a vehicle accident on Rt. 283. The engine was recalled before it's response.

8/23/2006 - Medic Assist & Mulch Fire

10:45 Medical assist to Medic 77-3.

15:35 Mulch fire @ ElmCrest Blvd. & Mount Joy Rd. Junior Firefighter Lamont was able to handle with a can.

8/22/2006 - Medic Assist & Automatic Alarm

06:05 Squad 75 was dispatched to assist Medic 77-3 with an AED response.

18:42 Truck 75 was dispatched with the station 710 assignment, for an automatic alarm. Clearing a short time after arrival.

8/20/2006 - Automatic Alarm

12:50 Station 75 was dispatched to 330 East Main St. for the automatic alarm. Chief 75-1 (Bradley) arrived to find a false pull and recalled the assignment.

8/18/2006 - Traffic Control

08:10 Traffic 75 was out again, (busiest traffic unit in the county) to Rt. 230 and Esbenshade Rd. to assist PSP with traffic control.

8/17/2006 - 4 Incidents for the day

06:57 Traffic 75 was dispatched to 1100 River Rd. assisting station 79 at their vehicle accident. 07:58 Engine 75-2 was dispatched to a vehicle accident w/ entrapment covering station 74 due to them being on another call. We were recalled a short time later. 11:13 Truck 75 was dispatched to assist Columbia Borough on a building/ brush fire on Old Chickies Rd. Chief 84-2 had the command with a working fire. Truck was on the scene approx. 1 1/2 hours. At 18:58 traffic 75 was dispatched to assist station 711 with their HazMat at Copes. Being recalled a short time later.

8/16/2006 - 3 Incidents during the daytime hours

Early start to the day with the automatic alarm to 1156 Four Star Drive. Alarm was investigated, found false all units back in service in a short time. At 11:31 Firepolice were requested to assist the MJB police at 34 West Main street for a vehicle accident EMS only. A short time later MJB then requested the fire department for spill control. A small amount of oil dry was used. Great job Lamont!! All units were clear in a short time.

8/15/2006 - Dwelling Assignment

20:52 Truck 75 was dispatched with the rest of the 710 assignment for a reported dwelling to 264 W. Front Street. Truck 75 arrived in level 1 staging. Was recalled shortly afterwards. Earlier in the day Traffic 75 assisted station 711 with a vehicle accident at Cloverleaf & Rt. 283.

8/14/2006 - Vehicle Accident

16:25 station 75, engine 719-1, Medic 77-3, squad 77 and Medic 708 were dispatched for a vehicle accident with entrapment at Rt. 283 East between 772 & Esbenshade Rd. It turned out the accident was actually between Rt. 772 & Little Chickies Creek. Engine 75-2 arrived to find one vehicle on its roof w/ no entrapment. 1 Patient still in vehicle, no other vehicles involved. Engine 75-1 arrived soon afterwards. Engine 75-2 crew stabilized  and assisted with patient removal. Engine 75-1 crew pulled a line while this was taking place. All fire units cleared in 26 minutes, fire police remaining on scene until 18:00 hours.

8/13/2006 - Automatic Alarm Assisting 710

21:14 Truck 75 was dispatched with the rest of the 710 assignment to the Waldorf School for the automatic alarm. The truck was held in front of the building for a short time with no services needed from the truck.

8/12/2006 - Investigation, Alarm Bells

11:02 Station 75 was dispatched for an investigation to 200 block of Marietta Ave. For an odor of oil in the residence. Engine 75-1 investigated and found an exhaust pipe from the oil burner that had a large size hole in the top of it. No CO was found in the dwelling. The oil burner was shut off and the units cleared. 18:37 station 75 and Tanker 711 were dispatched to 1200 block of West Main St. for alarm bells. Deputy 75 arrived to find no audible alarm. The area was checked and no alarms were heard. All units cleared in 8 minutes.

8/11/2006

16:14 Traffic 75 was dispatched to assist the police department at Market Ave. & Square St. 17:34 Engine 75-1 was also dispatched to assist the police department to Market Ave. & Square St. For the incident that was in the papers. Our hearts go out to the family involved.

8/10/2006

13:32 Traffic control assisting station 7-11. 22:48 Engine 75-1 was transferred to station 71, due to a barn fire in their first due. Engine 75-1 cleared at 02:54.

8/9/06 - Gazebo fire, Traffic Control

15:50 Truck 75 was dispatched to assist station 76 with a building fire to 3900 block of Marietta Ave (WHT). Medic 77-6 arrived to find a fully involved gazebo. 76 units arrived and held the assignment to 76 & 67 returning the truck. 18:40 Traffic 75 was dispatched to assist station 79 on Long Lane for a traffic accident.    

8/8/06 - Traffic Control

17:44 Traffic 75 assisted police with a non-injury crash at New Haven Street and Donegal Springs Road.

09:21 Engine 75-2 was dispatched with station 711 for a vehicle accident on Rt. 283 East. Deputy 75 and Chief 711 arrived at the same time to find one pickup truck that rolled and ended back on its wheels off the side of the roadway. One patient lying at the passenger door. One patient still in the vehicle on the passenger side. Engine 75-2 (OIC Lt. Fritz) crew assisted EMS (74-9 & 74-2) with removal of the patient on the ground. Engine 711-1 arrived and assisted engine 75-2 crew getting additional tools ready if needed. Using the hydraulic tools 75-2 crew removed the passenger door. Engine 75-2 & Engine 711-1 then assisted EMS (77-3) with removal of second patient. 75-2 was on scene a total of 21 minutes. 21:17 the second crash of the day was dispatched on Marietta Ave. at School Lane. Deputy 75 arrived to find one vehicle on its roof with a PP&L pole down. Engine 75-2 (OIC Chief Leber)  arrived and controlled hazards. Engine 75-1 (OIC A/C Gohn) arrived and staged for a brief period before being released. Engine 75-2 was on scene for 33 minutes.

   

8/6/06 - Dumpster Fire

17:27 Crews were dispatched for a trash fire, to Wilton Armetale. Upon the arrival of Chief 75 he had a working dumpster fire. Engine 75-1 controlled the fire. Engine 75-2 assisted with overhaul.  

8/5/2006 - Barn Fire, MVA

Ran 2 calls today, 11:37 dispatched to assist with a barn fire, Engine 751 & Truck 75 on scene, released @ 15:12. Second call was for a MVA @ 12:46 on Route 772 & Breneman Road, units cleared at 13:21 hours

8/4/2006 - Busy day at FDMJ

5 Runs for the day   Morning started early for the firefighters as we were sent to Childkraft around 02:30 for the automatic alarm. As firefighters were entering the station LCWC again dispatched for a second call in the district. This was to Gus's Keystone for an automatic alarm. Both calls proved to be false. Around 12:00 hours the building assignment was dispatched for Cornerstone drive (Yellowbook). E75-1, E75-2, E719-1, Truck 75, Truck 26, Rescue 84-1 & Medic 77-3 . Upon chief 75 response LCWC notified of a call from the building stating there was smoke from the ceiling tiles and that crackling could be heard. Engine 75-1 arrived first with nothing showing on the alpha and delta sides. Dropping the supply line from Main street (900'), Building evacuated. Entered the building to find a light smoke haze. This is when it was communicated that the smoke was coming from around the HVAC vent. Truck 75 arrived and went to the roof. Where they found a burnt up motor in the HVAC unit. All mutual aid units assisted in picking up E75-1 supply line, which was greatly appreciated. "Thank you" The day continued with a public service dispatch to Longenecker Rd. Which Captain 75-1 recalled us from. Again around 19:00 hours LCWC dispatched for the environmental rescue into Rapho Twp. at the intersection of Kinderhook and Habecker Rd's. Medic 77-6, Medic 700, E75-1, E75-2 for the rescue, Truck 75 and SOU 75. Captain 75-1 arrived to find 1 male approx. 15' down an embankment with severe back pain. Truck 75 arrived and assisted Medic 77-6 with patient care. The SOU arrived soon after and set up a simple 2:1 haul system using the squad as the anchor point. Rescue 84-1 who was covering the rescue engine, arrived and assisted with patient removal. Patient was removed and placed into the care of EMS.
