Day started at 08:20 for a vehicle accident on Rt. 283. It was a minor crash, all units cleared in a short time.

14:38 station 75 was dispatched for the automatic fire alarm to 1156 Four Star Dr. (Childkraft). While Chief 75 and Engine 75-1 were enroute LCWC notified of smoke from the building. Chief 75 arrived confirming this. Engine 75-1 arrived and secured a water supply. Crew entered the building to find a working fire in overflow storage area. Sprinklers were containing the fire. As the initial attack line was deployed (Leader line & high rise pack) onto the fire, the pile collapsed. Engine crew relocated to a safe area and kept the fire in check until ventilation could be completed. We were not able to complete this in a timely fashion due to no scuttles and it being a 400,000 sq. ft. facility. Ventilation took an extended period of time. Until proper ventilation was made crews were kept at a safe distance due to multiple collapses of the pile. After the smoke lifted it was seen that this was an overflow area. No racks just boxes piled 4 and 5 high. Approx. 20' to 30'  height. *** Thank you to all mutual aid departments.

21:33 last incident of the day was a vehicle accident assist to 719 on Rt. 283. Units cleared in a short time.
